BTX

The Brick is where I work as a part-time employee. Over the past few months, the pool has been under construction. My manager, who oversees the wet and dry sides, was feeling overwhelmed not only by the pool but also by the multiple events happening on the dry side. I offered to help, and she gave me two projects. One project was to write the pool rules interactively for the summer camp leaders to read and understand. The second was an infographic to help the lifeguards learn how to work the new slide.

These two projects helped me learn how to navigate different tools in Canva, follow customer requests to deliver the desired product, and take suggestions to improve my work.

Pool Rules

The pool rules came with their own challenges. I wanted to use a different format on Canva that could be easily converted to PDF and printed off.  I decided to use Canva's document feature. This feature gave me a lot of problems with formatting and customizations. It took a little tweaking, but I pulled it all together.

Lifeguard Infographic

With the slide reopening, the lifeguards needed a refresher on the rules. I was tasked with creating a simple, easy-to-read, but fun infographic. This was for lifeguards and CSAs to review before heading out to their positions.

Pool Reserved

The Swim Company, which uses our pool, had some trouble with patrons coming in during their lessons and interrupting the kids' swimming. In a pinch, I designed this sign for them to hang on the outdoor pool window for patrons to know this pool is currently closed.
