Choose your path!

I'm assuming that if you are on this blog, you are most likely a Bookworm or Book Dragon. If so, hello, fellow book addict, welcome to a longer TBR list if you are new to the book community, WELCOME! And you are about to get a TBR (To-Be-Read) list.

There are two hashtags I have been thrown into on Instagram and TikTok. Yep, Bookgram and Book Tok. And there are so many interesting indie books out there. I plan to ignore my current TBR list (jk they might sneak in sometimes) and read these books that have found me. These books will range from cozy reads you sit by the fire with a nice warm mug of cocoa to the books you tilt away from the rest of your family.

I do have my stories. I love dark, gritty stories, such as horror and thrillers. I do love reading fantasy, dystopian, and sci-fi as well. I grew up in fantasy and sci-fi as a young girl. My father read Narnia and Terry Pratchett to my siblings and me when I was a child. I would later then read Magic Tree House, followed by Percy Jackson and Harry Potter. Going into my teen years, I dove deep into the dystopian and romance genres; I read The Hunger Games, Tiger's Curse, I'm Not a Serial Killer, and The Maze Runner on repeat. I loved the high stakes and being pulled into a world that is mine but so different. Now, as an adult, I am drawn to books such as Jurassic Park, The Chaos Walking series, and a wide variety of the dark and grimm… when I have time to read.

This brings me to my goal, which is to help read. I'm a part-time student and full-time worker, so getting reading time in is a pain. Doing this blog gives me a good excuse to. Even if that means buying more books. (Oh, the horror!)

While there are tons of different stories and formats, there are also different levels of comfort. I will have a meter for different topics and a list of trigger warnings. These topics will include: explicit scenes, violence, language, and Drugs and Alcohol. This will allow you to decide if you want to read it and have your own fantastical trauma. At the end of each post, there will be a pie chart. This chart will give you a visual look at what the book contains. It will include all the trigger warnings and indicate how much of the book is problematic.

But will I stop at books? Of course not! I’m a fanatic of all the indie creators. I’ll go over games, TV shows (I have a few analog horrors I am excited about), and even dive deep into the creators. I’m new to the video gaming world in particular, so any ideas are more than welcome!

I am excited to start this new adventure. I already have a full series, movies, shows, and games ready to be discovered. Comment below any suggestions, ideas, or your favorite indie creators and I'll add them to the list! Or if you are an Indie creator add a link to your works and I'll definitely add them.

Keep turning pages!

I am too! My Steam is currently down, so I won't be able to play any video games yet. If you have any recommendations I will definitely add them to the list!
